I found out some great news the other day… Timez Attack 3 is now available!

In case you haven’t heard of Timez Attack, it’s an absolutely great educational video game. I bought it for my son to play with, and he is now top of his class at times tables. I wrote a review of Timez Attack here, and another review, comparing it to another game here.

Well, I happened to visit the Timez Attack website the other day, and saw these exciting words :

“The Wait is Over… Timez Attack 3.0″

If you have already bought Timez Attack, you can download the new version from their website, without paying an extra cent. You will need your Order Number, and the email address you used when you bought it. If you haven’t bought it yet, you can download an evaluation copy. The evaluation copy still teaches all the times tables up to 12 (except for the 0, 1 and 10 times tables). However, the character is confined to a “dungeon” environment for the whole game. Their philosophy seems to be “we want everyone to learn, but if you can afford it, buy it and you’ll have more fun”. There is also a “school” edition which allows teachers to track the progress of their pupils.

The paid version of Timez Attack 2 included a “Robot” level and a “Lava” level.

I secretly installed Timez Attack 3 and challenged my son to a game. When it started up, his very first reaction was “This is different… and much cooler!” – and that was just the introduction to the “Dungeon”. Then he saw that there was a new environment waiting for him, and he refused to stop playing!

Yes, Timez Attack 3 comes with a new environment, “Jungle”. I’ve included some screenshots below. If you don’t want to spoil the surprise, don’t look at the screenshots! Instead, hop straight over to the Timez Attack Website now…
