Newsletter #39 : End of Summer Sums

[This is a back-issue of this website’s newsletter]

Well, if you’re in the northern hemisphere, summer is drawing to a close, and it’s almost back-to-school time. It’s been a busy time for me – I can hardly believe it’s been over a month since I emailed you about the offline math architect game

However, I managed to find the time to pull together another worksheet generator – this time, for long addition sums. You can use the worksheet generator to create worksheets full of addition sums – and you can choose how tough or easy you want those sums to be, from 2+3 to 8347231038 + 9238749237 + 1782604302 + 2389074923 and beyond…

When you generate a worksheet, you also get the chance to bookmark two permalinks : one permalink to the questions, and another to the solutions. It’s hard to guess the solutions link from the questions link, so it’s safe to give the questions link to students. Or if you are a student, and you want some addition practice, generate yourself a worksheet, solve the questions, then click through to the answers to check your work.

Before I close, one more thing you might find useful, if you are watching the summer holidays tick away, with no time to do your ‘back-to-school’ shopping. You might like to know that Amazon.com is doing their best to make life easy, with a one-stop back-to-school shop. I hope it saves you some time!

Of course, if you are south of the equator, get ready to watch the cold of winter slowly disappear, being replaced by the sweet smell of spring weather!

Yours,
Michael Hartley
