Looking for printable sudoku puzzles? You can use the java applet below to print off as many sudokus as you like. Hopefully, it's simple and straightforward to use, but if not, I give some explanation below.
You should see the applet controls just above this paragraph. If not, see below. The controls are simple enough.
- How Many? the number you enter here is how many sudoku puzzles you want. The most the applet will let you choose is 1500 - since the puzzles are printed 6 per page, this would be a 250 page sudoku book (or more, if you also printed the solutions)! If you really, really need more than that, you can always click Print lots of times. If you can persuade me that you really need to print millions of sudoku puzzles, I can always make you a special version of the applet. You better have a good reason!!
- Difficulty? Choose from Simple Sudoku, Easy Sudoku, Normal Sudoku, Tough Sudoku or Killer Sudoku - or leave the drop-down box on Random for varied selection.
- Symmetry? lets you choose how symmetric the unsolved sudoku puzzle is.
- Print Solutions? If you don't want solutions printed, click this off.
- Print Footer? leaving this on prints a nice footer on each page, so you'll always know where to come back to to get more printable sudoku puzzles!
If you didn't 'trust' the applet it might not be able to print. Applets in web pages are not allowed to do just anything to your computer. The applet needs your permission to use your printer. Sometimes, this means that as soon as the web page loads, you are asked if you want to 'trust' the applet. If you said 'No', and now you can't print, then reload this page, and say 'Yes' this time.
If all else fails, I've used the applet to produce a few PDF's full of printable sudoku puzzles. If you can't get the applet to work, just download the worksheets below.

In case you are interested.... This online sudoku puzzle printer is modified from an online sudoku applet made by Zentense. They made their applet open source, which means anyone is free to copy, change and distribute a new version of their applet, as long as the modified version is also made open source. I did exactly that to come up with my Sudoku Printing Applet.
If you are interested in modifying my sudoku printer, all the source code is available in the applet's "jar file" - if you are capable of modifying it further, you'll know what that means and how to get it! The licence is a standard Mozilla Public Licence.
The code from Zentense also forms the basis of my Online Sudoku Applet. You'll also find, on this website, some Printable Sudoku for kids and a Sudoku Solver.
