With each of these number mazes, there's a grid of numbers. Your goal is to make your way from the start to the end, making sure the numbers you pass through add up to exactly the right number! You can choose either
- Easy 3x3 mazes, where the numbers in your path must add up to 20
- Moderate 4x3 mazes, where the numbers must add up to 50
- Tough 4x4 mazes, where the numbers must add up to 100
- Tough 5x3 mazes, where the numbers must add up to 100
At each step in your path, you can go horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally. You can only pass each cell once. There's some examples below.
When you download a set of mazes, you'll see eight on the page. Each one has been checked by the computer, and has just one solution - there's only a single path through that adds to the correct number. Each time you visit this page again, you'll get a new set of mazes. Or else, you can ask for a new set of mazes by clicking the "New Mazes" link below.
The pictures below show the rules for these maze puzzles.
This path is not a solution - the total of the numbers you pass in the 3x3 mazes should be 20, but the numbers on this path add up to 17
This path is not a solution - although the total of the numbers passed is correct, the path doesn't end at the right place. It's supposed to end at the square marked "End"
This path is not a solution - each step in the path should be vertical or horizontal. You can only go up, down, left or right. This path has some diagonal steps, so it's wrong.
This path solves the puzzle! Each step in the path is vertical or horizontal, the numbers add up to 20, and the path starts and ends in the correct places.
