Dinosaur Discovery Downloads

[This is a back-issue of this site’s newsletter]

It’s the school holidays in a lot of places, including here where I live. A good chance to spend time taking the kids to interesting places.

On the weekend, we visited the local museum, where there’s a special exhibit on, called “Dinosaur Discovery – Lost Creatures Of The Cretaceous”.

Amongst the displays of fossils, and animatronic dinosaurs, there was a smartphone app that let you see dinosaurs in 3D, via some special barcodes.

It was awesome. So awesome, I wanted to share it with you guys.

So, I’ve added a page to my website, with links to the smartphone app (it works on iPhones, iPads, and Android devices), and some downloadable, printable dinosaur codes.

You’ll be amazed when you see it – check out the video I made about it, then hop over and download some dinosaurs for yourself. After I printed these out, and got the app onto the kids’ Android tablets (yes, we limit their screen time, and don’t let them take their electronic devices to the bedroom), they got really interested in dinosaurs (for a while, at least!!) Even the one who hates reading was caught reading a dinosaur book to try to identify the creatures in the app.

I even made a huge dinosaur code, that pops up a dinosaur as big as a sofa!

Rumour has it that the Dinosaur Discovery exhibition will be touring the world soon. Make sure you catch it when it comes to a city near you!
